Wee Bit Wednesday

{ONE} What was your first job?
It was at Baskin Robbins, and I remember it all very clearly. I worked there a few months when I was 16, and I left nearly every shift in tears. I was constantly getting in trouble by the owners for giving people too much ice cream. There is a minimum amount of ounces Baskin Robbins requires its franchises to give out, and to this day the Baskin Robbins in Peterkort Square is the only one I’ve known to give the minimum amount. They looked pathetic even in a small sugar cone, and if you gave them out the customers would get angry with you. This was not even the worse part, her name was Nicole, and she was right out of that movie Mean Girls. I could go on and on, but I’ll spare you. I was fired over the phone and my boss told me she would “give me a recommendation for another job, but there just wasn’t anything I would be good at.” I hope she’s still having fun scooping ice cream, because I love my writing job =)

{TWO} Have you ever seen a standup comedian?
I went to Harvey’s Comedy Club all the time my junior and senior years at PSU and all throughout grad school. I would go with my co-workers from the Multnomah Athletic Club and with friends from PSU on other nights. We were on their free ticket phone list, and I never paid once. It was awesome!

{THREE} When was the last time you played mini golf?
Usually a fight ensues when I play miniature golf. I’ve probably been with Reuben at least once, and things got ugly when I went with my co-workers from State Farm, haha. I hate to lose, and I tend to trash talk when I play miniature golf. I have no idea why, because I’m not very good.

{FOUR} What was the last picture you took?
I took a picture of our dessert last night. Yum!

{FIVE} Burnt food: yes or no?
Only crème brûlée =)

{SIX} If you have a pocket full of change, what do you do with it?
If we get too much, I put it in a coin purse and will use the self-checkout when I get groceries. We also have a big jar of foreign money left over from our travels. I read that it’s nice to do have one as a conversation piece. We have money from about a dozen countries.

{SEVEN} Can you touch your tongue to your nose?
No.

{EIGHT} Do you scrapbook?
Sometimes, but I prefer to use that fun stuff for making cards.

{NINE} Do you buy lottery tickets?
I’ve only bought them when I was desperate for birthday gifts. I compare gambling to flushing your money down the toilet unless you’re one of those neat people who can count cards.

{TEN} Do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?
Both. I’m a ham, but I love taking pictures of my girls.
