Seven Months

Dear Calista,

Today you’re seven months old! I almost forgot to write this letter as the time is passing so quickly.
You aren’t crawling yet, but you can roll across a room quickly. You also do a soldier crawl from time to time. Every day you get faster and faster.

Your first word was Dada, and a just this last weekend you started saying Mama. Listening to you call for me in your sweet voice melts my heart every time.

You’re teething, but nothing has come through yet. Most days you just rub your gums and drool, but others are quite tough for you.

You enjoy playing with toys and reading books. I’m pleased that you already have a love for the written word. Today you signed up for summer reading at the library with Chloe. They even had special summer reading onesies for the babies.

You started eating this month. You love sweet potatoes, carrots, and rice cereal. You’re not so sure about peas, but you make faces as if you would like to enjoy them. You’re a really big eater. Daddy and I are amazed at how much you can eat. As of now, you’re eating two meals a day.

You’re still afraid of cribs, but you’ve been sleeping on a toddler mattress next to me at night, and that seems to be working well. Sometimes it’s hard to convince you to go to bed, as you can roll off it on your own, but we’ve had quite good luck with this sleeping arrangement so far.

Every month is a new adventure. It’s such a blessing to watch you grow and show off your personality. You bring me more joy than you’ll ever know.

Love Always,
Mommy

More to come...
