Four Months

Dear Cruz,

Today you’re four months old! You’re a joy, and I love listening to you talk and talk. Your sweet voice is the perfect blend of your jovial spirit and the energetic person you’ve become.

You love to roll from your back to your tummy and try to crawl. I know you’re excited for the day when you’ll be able to chase after your sisters.

You’re built like your sister Chloe was at this age. Your weight is at 15lbs 9oz (72nd percentile), height is at 27in (99th percentile), and your head is at 17.5in (96th percentile). You’ve been tilting your head off to the side, and your doctor wants you to see a physical therapist to help with the muscles in your neck. You never act like you’re in pain though. You also have a small flat spot on the side of your head that we’re confused about. We’ll either treat it with a special helmet, or maybe you’ll be able to grow out of it on your own.

You like to click your tongue on the roof of your mouth. The sound makes you quite pleased with yourself. You also enjoy the bouncer, but you rarely move around in it. I think it’s a comfortable place for you since you’ve been quite congested and drooling heavily due to teething. I’ve spotted a couple teeth that are just barely poking through. I’m sure you’ll look quite handsome with your new toothy smile.

I’m excited to watch you grow and progress. You’re such a wonderful addition to our family.
