Dear Cruz,
Today you’re six months old!
You love to smile, laugh, and coo. You’ve
also started saying your first word, “Hi.” It’s very sweet. You have a loud
voice, which is necessary to be heard over your big family.
You just celebrated your first
Halloween, and you had an adorable Batman costume. Unfortunately on October 30th
around midnight, you started having trouble breathing. You spent most of your
days on the 30th and 31st with doctors, receiving x-rays,
and doing other medical related necessities to figure out the problem. It
appears that you either had a post-viral respiratory infection in connection to
the cough your sisters had the week prior, or you may have asthma. We now have
a nebulizer in case you have trouble breathing again.
You still have the same little white
spots on your gums, and you’re continuing to drool heavily. I’m sure something
will make its way through soon. The drool doesn’t bother you unless it causes
you to choke and cough while you’re sleeping.
Speaking of sleeping, you’ve still
only slept through the night a handful of times. You tend to wake up every
three hours to eat, sometimes more frequently on periods where you seem to be
growing. You’ve also been known to get up at 3:00am all smiles and ready to
start a new day. We’re going to add a multigrain baby cereal to your diet this
upcoming month, and hopefully that will help quench your large appetite.
You’re still going to physical therapy
a couple times a week. You’re making big improvements, but it’s going to be a
long process. You’re starting to get frustrated by your exercises, but we know
you’ll be thankful when you’re a toddler and running around with ease.
You continue to follow in your big
sister Chloe’s path physically. The resemblance is amazing. I’m curious to see
if you’ll share in some of your sisters personality traits as well. They were
both very happy babies, like yourself, so it’s hard to tell at this time.

of love.” Mother Teresa
Love Always,
Mommy
