Marshmallow Infused Vodka

I was trying to come up with a creative Easter care package idea for Reuben.  After hitting up the Easter aisles at the local big box stores, I came up with an idea.  Marshmallows.  They’re in so many of the Easter treats; alone they’re not that impressive…. unless… you get creative… and soak them in vodka!

After looking online, I realized I wasn’t the first one with this brilliant plan.  That being said, I think it will be a fabulous Easter treat for Reuben.  I obviously can’t keep yummy secrets, as I already told Reuben what I made for him.
Ingredients (there’s no need for exact measurements)
  • Mason Jars
  • Marshmallows
  • Vodka

Directions
I started by ripping my marshmallows into smaller pieces.  You want the vodka to make as much contact with the inside of the marshmallow as possible.  You’ll then want to split up your marshmallows into the mason jars and top with vodka.  Make sure to secure the lids well; the marshmallows will expand.  At some point you will want to strain out the vodka.  I left mine in, and I recommend that Reuben strains it with a spoon when it arrives.  The longer the marshmallows are in it, the more flavorful the drink.  As for serving, I would suggest mixing it with a bit of chocolate liqueur for a s’more effect.  If you’re feeling fancy, you might want to dip the rim of your glass in graham cracker crumbs as well.
